👇 Let’s get into today’s message.👇

DTC brands commonly butcher their email design without even knowing it.

Here are the 5 steps to better-looking emails (and higher open rates):

1. Consistency

Your email design should match your:

  • Website

  • Product Packaging

  • Social media visuals

If your entire funnel is synchronized except for email, you’re doing more harm than good.

2. Mobile & Desktop

Email design that functions on desktop might look janky on mobile.

If both aren’t optimized, you might as well send plain text emails.

Mobile is now king, so prioritize Mobile-First.

3. Deliverability

Speaking of plain text emails…

If your deliverability sucks, I’d advise you to ignore email design altogether.

Design is great, but it’s a privilege you can only enjoy when your sender’s reputation gets better.

4. Dark Mode

Many readers on your list use dark mode on desktop and mobile.

Design that doesn’t factor in dark mode looks amateur at best and terrible at worst.

It’s an extra layer of due diligence, but it’s worth considering.

5. Copywriters

If your email marketing is done in-house, make sure your copywriters and designers work together.

Your designer's creative capacity depends on how the copy is written.

That’s it!

If you check these 5 boxes, your design will always perform.

Enjoy the effortless brand recognition that comes along with it.
