Client asks: “Why are open rates dropping?“

They're buying what you're offering them.
Here's where smart marketers focus instead:
→ The offer needs to solve a real problem or fulfill a genuine desire.
→ It should be positioned as the obvious choice among alternatives.
→ The value must clearly outweigh the price in the customer's mind.
→ The timing has to match where they are in their journey.
A solid offer makes every other element of your email marketing easier to optimize.
Instead of saying: Our lipstick is long-lasting and made with organic ingredients
Say: Look stunning all night, no touch-ups needed.
By simply shifting the focus from the product to the consumer, things feel different.
And they impact differently too.
With a good angle, subject lines write themselves.
Copy flows naturally around the core value proposition.
Call-to-actions become obvious next steps, not desperate pleas.
Your open rates, click rates, and conversions all improve as a direct impact.
I've seen mediocre emails with outstanding offers outperform beautifully crafted emails with weak offers countless times.
It's not even close.
Next time you're planning your email campaign, start with the offer.
Ask yourself: "Would I be genuinely excited to receive this?"
If not, no amount of email marketing wizardry will save it.
Focus on creating an irresistible offer first, then optimize everything else around it.
Your revenue will thank you.
