Q4 Starts Tomorrow. Are you ready?
Free Q4 Guide: 7 Rapid Fire Step Roadmap to Prepare

I’ve prepared for you today a Q4 Actionable 7 Step Roadmap with some of the exact actions we’ve been implementing for our clients.
This short list comes from the last 5 years of running email marketing for ecommerce businesses.
Think of this as a mini toolkit for Q4, so that you sell more and grow your business.

1. Create Separate Offers for Q4
Create different offers for Pre-Black Friday, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, 12 Days of Deals, Christmas, and New Year.
12 days of Christmas is an absolute winner and we typically see huge returns. (I explain more about this in #7)
Switching between offers keeps things fresh, and teaches the audience that deals can disappear pushing them to act.
2. Launch Your Black Friday Campaign 3 Weeks Early
Start teasing the offer 3 weeks before BF/CM.
Have an early offer, e.g. buy 2 get 1 free.
Send at least 10 emails spread throughout those weeks.
Give your best deals on Black Friday day itself e.g. 50% off.
Don’t continue Black Friday offers past Cyber Monday.
3. Change your Popup Offers Throughout Q4
Modify your popup for each event - Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Holiday Gift Guide, 12 days of Xmas, Christmas and New Year.
When offers are personalized to current events we typically see a 20-50% increase in emails collected as there’s urgency attached.
Set the popups live and 3-7 days before each event.
4. Be the Annoying Company That Emails Christmas "Too Early"
Launch your holiday gift guide in early November.
Early shoppers convert at 30-40% higher rates. Tested this for the last few years and there’s always huge uptake.
If there’s an opportunity for people to get gifts early, with a deal they will.
5. Setup and Turn On a Customer Affiliate Program
We see an uplift in referrals around the gifting months, customers earn commissions on holiday gift sharing.
Nice and easy uplift in AOV and LTV, with no added effort.
Use an app like Social Snowball (not sponsored, but I personally think it’s the best).
6. 24-Hour Flash Sales During Peak Shopping Days
On days like Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas and New Year.
There’s an opportunity to open short urgency windows to launch 24 hour sales.
These can be product drops, or sales that expire shortly.
During these days, it’s ok to send 3-6 emails on the same day with 2-3 text messages to drive the sale. (segment or you will make some people angry)
7. Launch a "12 Days of Deals" Email Series
Create 12 different offers, and use this as an excuse to email the first 12 days of December.
The offers should not hurt margins and if possible be gift friendly to allow repurchases.
Make these emails fun and playful, that is what will drive sales.
Examples of fun offers.
Day 1: Get a mystery gift with any purchase above $50.
Day 2: We donate $5 to [Insert Charity] with every purchase made
Keep people buying through early December, and connect with your customers.
