The 5-step Klaviyo setup proven to make millions
Most people skip step 1 and wonder why they fail
I’ve audited 200+ Klaviyo Accounts over my time as an email marketing nerd.
I wish I could tell great exciting stories.
But the reality is that I see almost always the same mistakes.
These mistakes could cost as little as a few thousand to millions in lost sales.
Here's how I structure a Klaviyo account to maximize sales (2025 Edition)

Start with deliverability (i know I know, this again)
If a high % of your emails land in spam, it's game over.
SPF, DKIM and DMARC need to be setup.
After that warm your domain and list over 3-4 weeks.
Email as though you are introducing your business to a friend.
Gradually and don’t sell too hard at the beginning.
Now keep an eye on this weekly.
Get Flows Setup almost immediately.
They will make your Ad spend go far.
They build deliverability gradually due to low volume.
Focus on these 6 core flows to start.
Welcome, Abandoned Checkout + Cart + Browse and Site.
Post purchase with a convenient upsell/crossell.
Solid list growth will change your business.
Start with a simple Zero Party Data popup
It's not 1997, stop using generic signups: "Here's your 5% off"
No spin wheels.
No boring offers.
Think of your customers biggest problems and ask them about it.
Test new offers every few weeks.

Start segmenting early
Don't send every email to your full list.
At minimum, split by:
30, 60, 90-day engaged
New vs repeat buyers
This will make a huge difference, but don't segment more than this for now.
Launch your first 4-6 campaigns ASAP.
Aim for 1–2 emails per week.
Not every email needs to sell, but 40%+ definitely should.
Try content like:
Product Spotlight
Letter from founder
How to use the product
Customer success stories
Take a chill pill on those discounts
Sending campaigns doesn't mean you have to discount.
Train your audience buy at regular pricing.
Discount should be for more exceptional circumstances.
